Jesus or Mohammad?
Always there is an argument between the followers of Jesus on the one hand and
the followers of Mohammad on the other as to who is the saviour of mankind.
We shall consider some facts in both the Quran and the Bible to see who is
approved by God to give salvation to men. It could be observed that while Jesus
is both in the Quran and the Bible, Mohammad can be found only in the Quran.
THE WORD OF GOD
Both the Quran and the Bible agree that Jesus is the Word of God.
"Behold!" the angels said: "0 Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a
Word from Him. His name shall be Christ Jesus." (Sura #3
Al-i-Imran 46.) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." (John
1:1,14.) No other prophet is spoken of as the Word of God, neither in the
Quran nor the Bible.
THE VIRGIN BIRTH
She said "0 my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched
me?" (Sura #3 Al-i-Imran 48.) "Therefore the Lord himself shall give
you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14.) Joseph knew not Mary till she had brought
forth Jesus. (Matthew 1:25.) Mohammad had both father and mother being born in
April 570 A.D. in Mecca.
FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW
Both the Bible and the Quran agreed that Jesus came to fulfill the law (Torah).
"And I come fulfilling that which is before me, namely, the Torah (law)
..." (Sura #5 Al-i-Imran 51.) "And he said unto them, these are the
words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be
fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the prophets
concerning me." (Luke 24:44)
Note: Law in the Hebrew language is Torah. Mohammad is neither mentioned in the
Quran nor the Bible concerning the fulfillment of the law.
SINLESS LIFE
According to the "Islamic Faith and Practices" by Manzoor Nomani, in
the two prayers of Mohammad, Mohammad was quoted to have confessed his sins.
However, in Hebrews 4:15, we read "For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points
tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Jesus, the high priest for
Christians is sinless.
RESURRECTION AND ASCENSION
AFTER DEATH
"When Allah said; 0 Jesus, I cause you to die and exalt thee to
myself..." (Sura #3 Al-i-Imran 56.) "That Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the
third day according to the scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter and the
twelve." (1 Cor. 15:3-5.)
Jesus is exalted and honored. "...0 Jesus! I will take thee and raise
thee to myself...Jesus, Son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the
next..." (Sura #3 Al-i-Imran 56;46.) "That power is like the
working of this mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him
from the dead and seated Him at the right hand in the heavenly realms, far
above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every title which can be
given, not only in the present age, but also in the one to come." (Eph.
1:19-20.)
Mohammad is still in his tomb at Mecca till this day where the Moslems go every
year for their pilgrimage.

The bride of Christ (Eph. 5.21-32.)
